Receiving feedback like this is something we never take for granted. 

Over the past two years, we’ve had the privilege of sharing creative, mindfulness-based workshops with young people @perthchildrenshospital . Along the way, we’ve met some incredible staff who care deeply about the wellbeing of the young people they support every day.

Over the past two years, we’ve had the privilege of delivering our mindfulness-based art workshops within the adolescent mental health wards at @perthchildrenshospital 

Each week, we create a space where young people can slow down, pick up a pencil or paint pen and simply create.

Along the way, we explore gentle themes like gratitude, compassion, mindfulness, self-expression, and connection. Sometimes the conversations flow naturally. Sometimes the artwork does the talking. Sometimes it’s enough just to sit quietly and make something with our hands. 

We’ve consistently seen how creativity can help people settle into the present moment, reduce stress, build confidence, and create opportunities for meaningful connection, without any pressure to be “good at art.”

One of the things we’re most proud of is hearing from hospital staff about the positive shift in energy they notice after the sessions, and seeing young people who may have been hesitant at first gradually find their own way into the creative process.

Experiences like these continue to remind us that making time to create can be a simple but powerful part of supporting wellbeing.

Term 2 - To The Beat Wrap up 🎨🌈

We had so much fun practicing yoga, mindfulness, and playing with art. 

We even had the privilege of welcoming local legend @ric_burkitt as our guest artist to share his skills and knowledge with the group. 😀

Thanks also to Julia, the @mundaringshire shire and @shireofmundaringyouth @mundaringadultcreative for assisting and supporting this program. 🙂❤️
